Another writer to emulate

I have finished reading my first Lee Child book with his hero Jack Reacher and it was very good. Bleak, cold, a bit sad but a very good story and great writing. I have become a fan and a learner and will be reading his other books, for sure.
Student mode is good since it gives me the opportunity to read and to learn.
Thank You, Lord for this writing gift, Amen.

I am congruent (2)!

Well, I have written under this title before but feel compelled to use it again because I now think I have reached a higher level of congruency. I cannot expect everyone to run with my dreams and hopes and ideals and for years that is what I have been doing; only to get disappointed and move on to another person I expect to hope and dream with me! Silly girl, Nana.

Real congruency is believing in my dream and knowing in my heart that with or without support or supporters, I will give my all to reaching my goals and my destiny.

Welcome to congruency once again, Nana.

Thank You, Lord for another chance, AMEN!

I honour myself, Lord and You in me

On Sunday I renewed my commitment to myself, especially in the light of some relationships that have gone down south. I sometimes wonder whether I am not good at relationships because of the many that have gone south and it is baffling for someone who thinks she is quite friendly and considerate. Whatever the case, this dream of relocation to Ghana means everything to me and the dream of being financially independent is equally important to me. So as I travel life's journey doing my best to live as Christ would live, I will also remember that loving oneself enables me to love others better.

Loving oneself does not imply selfishness, it implies honouring what God has put into you to fulfil your destiny and thus be an example to some around you.
I promise to honour myself and the gifts that Christ has put into me, Amen.

Thank You for today, Amen.

One of the ideas that has been on my heart has resonated with a family member and he is prepared to help me launch this dream. Is this a breakthrough or one of those hollow promises from another? We wait to see and I most definitely will be praying about it.
Thank You, Lord for today, Amen.

Today is another day 2

It has been a very cold and foggy day today. My biggest goal was to do the little lady's hair and I did manage to do it but did not do a good job since she seemed to be in so much distress. I don't want to cut it but I might have to with all this palaver about doing her hair.

I had hoped to achieve other things but will have to leave it for today. At least I am jotting down things so trying to press through and break through. Thank You, Lord for another day and for Your mercy, Amen.

Plodding on, hair chopped off

I have had to chop my locks today, i.e. cut my hair because I couldn't get anyone to do it at short notice over the weekend when my hairdresser had to disappoint me impromptu. I do not possess that many scarves to make it through the week and these days my Saturdays seem to be busy. What to do?It is not very nice to feel beholden to people all the time and this way I can just get up and go as it were. Hope it lasts for a while and next time I need to retouch it, someone can do it for me in a very short time. Making progress, I hope.

Lord, help me to be in control of my time so that I do not feel overwhelmed like I am feeling this evening. Let Your will be done in my life, Amen.

The Web is back!

Finally the Internet is working at home. After yesterday's post, this should surely be an addition and not something to steal my focus away from the writing with the basic instruments. The computer is just one addition to what I already have.
Grateful for the fact that I can check my email at home now though.
Thank You, Lord for all that You do, AMEN!

I have all I need

I am making progess though I have been disabled at home because the Internet connection is down. One day I woke up to the phrase, 'I have all I need'. And indeed I do. I have my Bibles, my pens, my pencils and notebooks. What more do I want before I write? When I can, I will nip to the local library but in the meantime, I will bond with my many pens and pencils.
You have all you need, Nana. Do not let technology bring you down now.

Thank You, Lord for today, Amen.

The 1st of November

The 11th month of the year and how has the year been like so far for me? A bit of a topsy-turvy year indeed with lots of drama, stops and bumps. Hopefully it is paving the way for a calm and very productive 2011 with God's Help. One has matured a bit more and is more willing to buckle down and learn and study and press on. A key to breaking through and for that I am truly grateful.

Press on, press through, Nana and you will see the results you so eagerly desire to see, Amen.
Lord, another day to thank You for indeed, Amen.
